My Top 5 Girls Names

Yesterday was all about my Top 5 TV Shows (no doubt The Tribe was number one), but today is dedicated to my Top 5 Girls Names.  And no, Shaniqua isn’t one of them, although I do love my name.

5. Michal

Michal is a beautiful Bible name that I only became aware of in recent years, but I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.  It has a gorgeous, royal sound, which kind of just rolls of the tongue when you say it.

4. Toyah

For some reason, I am a little obsessed with the name Toyah.  If I am inventing a character, Toyah is usually one of the first names that will come to my head, because I just love it.  I guess it just sounds and looks nice.

3. Tiara

Although this is the word for the beautiful things that you wear on your head, Tiara is also a beautiful name for a girl.  As soon as I began to see it as a name, it became one of my firm favourites and I intend for it to be the middle name for one of my daughters.

2. Shivaan

Shivaan is another name that I am obsessed with, but I know that it is partly because I really like the sound of it and I love the spelling.  Shivaan is just a name that sounds great and I love that you can shorten it to Vaanz.  And just so you know, my first daughter is definitely going to have Shivaan as her middle name.

1. India

If you know me, you know that my first choice was always going to be India, which is my favourite name of all time.  Yes, it is the name of a country but I think that it makes the most beautiful name for a girl and for as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to call my daughter India.

So these are my Top 5 Girls Names, but I need to give a special mention to Sarah and Shani, which are two names that I’ve got a lot of love for.  Sarah may surprise you, as it’s quite plain, but I love it all the same.  What are your top girls names?
