Finally Baked

So as I told you yesterday, I finally took some time out to bake!  The urge to bake was too strong, so I actually took myself to shop and got the ingredients for the sweet treat that I was so desperate to make.

I was craving the delicious chocolate mint brownies that I had seen, so it was chocolate mint brownies that I made.  They took a lot of time and a lot of mixing that hurt my arms a little bit, but they were so worth it.

Despite being very sweet, the mint is refreshing and they taste great (if I say so myself).  I’m enjoying eating them and others who have tasted them have also said that they liked them, so I guess I’m doing something right.

Baking is something that I enjoy, but never seem to get enough time to do, which made me even more determined to make these brownies.  Hopefully I’ll have more time to bake in the future and maybe tell you guys about it, but for now here is a little peek at my chocolate mint brownies.   Chocolate Mint Brownies 2Chocolate Mint Brownies

A New Endeavour

Today I have embarked on a new endeavour that will take me another step forward towards working with young people.

I think I told you that I planned to create a blog focused solely on young people, which I did today!  It took quite a bit of time, as I wanted to get it just right and I also created a Twitter page to accompany it.

This is my way of becoming a voice for the young people, whilst allowing them to share their stories and views.  It will also help to develop my research and knowledge, so that I can produce youth stories for national papers.

I can’t wait to write future blog posts and hopefully spark up discussions that everyone will get involved in.  I am also hoping to get some young people to write guest blog posts, although I’m afraid that it will have to be for free, because this happens to be another voluntary endeavour.

To take a look at my second blog, head to youngpeopleinsight.wordpress.com, and if you want to follow the Twitter page, the Twitter handle is @YPInsight.  I look forward to hearing any of your thoughts, views and opinions.

My Broken Heart

Heartbroken

I told you before that my heart was broken, and this painting was my way of expressing that.  I was able to let out all that pain, anguish and anger with my paintbrush and leave it all on the page.

My heart is still a little broken, as it has not been whole for a long time, but I am feeling a lot better than I was.

As I told the person who broke my heart yesterday, it is going to take a lot of time to truly mend my broken heart, but I appreciate those who are willing to try.

The cracks in my heart are still there, but I can say that they are slowly starting to heal and that is putting a big, bright, genuine smile back on my face.
