Choosing good friends can be a difficult task to accomplish, especially with culture deceiving us to believe that a good friend is someone who tells us everything we want to hear rather than what we need to hear–someone who will agree with every decision you make even if it is a bad one.

Throughout the past year of my life, I have had to let go of some friends who were having a negative influence in my life rather than a positive one. Although it was a hard decision to make, in the process I gained some of the best friends I’ve ever had. In doing so, they’ve helped me to make some huge decisions in my life and they’re always there to hold me accountable and let me know when they feel like I’m in a situation I shouldn’t be in.
